Optimal will support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) implementation of requirement in the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 to assess the quality of care in outpatient settings. Optimal will develop new quality measures relevant to HOPDs and ASCs for implementation in 2009. In addition, Optimal will continue to update, review, and report on existing quality measures in outpatient departments implemented in 2008. Optimal is conducting this work in collaboration with its subcontractor, the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality.
