CMS has contracted with Optimal for the MTMP Monitoring Support project. The purpose of this project is to perform monitoring of the Part D Sponsors’ MTMPs. The project’s goal is to assist CMS in monitoring and evaluating MTMPs offered by Part D sponsors in an effort to identify and understand attributes of MTMPs that are most effective for the Medicare program, beneficiaries, and providers. Optimal will summarize the interventions outcome measures used by Part D sponsors in their MTMPs, identify the attributes of MTMPs that are associated with positive outcomes for Part D beneficiaries and the Medicare program, and recommend updates to the MTMP reporting requirements.
