Publication Preparation
The Communications Department assists with the preparation of client and internal publications and documents. This includes the following tasks:
- Authoring documents

Providing necessary draft edits
- Technical/Substantive Editing
- Copy Editing
- Proofreading
- Formating publications
- Using standard and specialty writing style(s)
- Preparing final client-ready copy, or providing final step editing and quality-control
- Attending press inspections
- Developing presentations
- Producing Newsletters
Optimal’s Communications staff has prepared documents using the following standards:
- Government document formatting (e.g., U.S. Department of Education)
- Government Printing Office
- Modern Language Association
- Chicago Manual of Style
- American Psychological Association
- The Associate Press Stylebook and Libel Manual
- Printing procedures
- Business, proposal, and report writing
- Presentation development
