Optimal Solutions Group was recently awarded a contract to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Medicare/Medicaid Data Analysis Centers (MMDAC).  Referred to as Medi-Medi, work on the contract will include providing an external review and report on the current Medi-Medi project’s strengths and opportunities for improvement or enhancement in all functional areas including:  data-analysis, investigation and case development processes, coordination with state Medicaid program staff, and the operational efficacy of each Medi-Medi Steering Committee.  Relying upon lessons learned from the Medi-Medi investigation and review, Optimal Solutions Group will provide CMS with written recommendations on the oversight, management, and evaluation controls of the projects, as well as recommendations and standard operating procedures for an optimal Medi-Medi project model for use in expansion to other states.  Also, under Medi-Medi, Optimal researchers will provide recommendations, which include a timeline, for expansion of the program to specific states, regions, and/or U.S. territories.

The Medi-Medi project is a mandate of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA).
