COLLEGE PARK, MD- June 28, 2011- Dr. Mark Turner, President & CEO of Optimal Solutions Group, LLC (Optimal) has accepted an invitation to join the industry advisory board for the 2nd Annual Workshop on Health IT and Economics (WHITE) held in Washington, DC on October 8th and 9th. He will take part in a panel discussing policy and practice of the currentIT Health Industry. Dr. Turner also served as a member of the workshop’s Policy and Practice Panel at last year’s event, co-sponsored by Optimal.

The conference is hosted by the University of Maryland’s (UM) Robert H. Smith School of Business and is sponsored by the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems (CHIDS) at UM. Known as a “summit that gathers prominent scholars in a multidisciplinary setting,” the conference brings together members of academia and professionals in a strategy sessions to integrate IT solutions into modern medicine and provide better quality care for patients.

WHITE’s mission is to build a multi-disciplinary health IT field in hopes of creating a more diverse and dynamic professional track. The conference contributes to this mission by integrating business and public policy through cross-disciplinary summits. Topics include the use of federal incentives to compile electronic health records, health disclosure laws, and health information exchanges.
